about

Shoe-gaze af song I wrote in the midst of a bad break up circa 2012. I'm still actively embarrassed by how I acted back then post-break up. Playing this song again made me confront some things I'd been avoiding about myself. A lot of pathetic behavior during a time where I was losing people and friends fast. I 100% respect why so many people stopped being my friend at that point too. This was also when I was dealing with so many other identity/mental health/ self-harm shit, but none of that is directly addressed in the song. Just another thing I had to confront while doing this song.

lyrics

When I try to be
more than anything that i know
It all just goes away
and there's never anyone to blame but
i'll try it anyway
and now you're on to someone new
it's all my fault, it's all my fault
but I will try
to deny, deny

It made sense why you left me here
And if I could, I'd leave too
It made sense why you left me here
And if I could, I'd leave too

I know my place is not with you
and there's really nothing left to do but
I just want to say
that i miss you and it hurts everyday
everyday wasted day
Now I'll just go away and try not to
try not to cry
because i can't
I can't deny that

It made sense why you left me here
And if I could, I'd leave too
It made sense why you left me here
And if I could, I'd leave too
