This one is a song I brought to Listen Lady (miss you lovelies). "McCovey is off the table" is a deep cut reference to an episode of The Wonder Years where Paul and Kevin are arguing about baseball cards and it gets hella heated... then heavy af shit happens and they squash their beef cause they're real ones.
I wrote it about arguing with people who you can't really cut out of your life. Like you can't just dip like it's an internet rando, but like you know you're not getting anywhere on the subject. This was after trying to reconnect with some family members who I love, but my queerness/transness is not something they can ever really "see eye to eye" with me on. *shrugs*
Anyway, this one is a song we had recorded on our "never released" full length record before we decided to not use the recordings. The decision to not release the so-so recordings was based on the fact that they were recorded by someone we knew who was outed as a predator/all around creep. So... fuck that shit... Here's my solo (but still full band) version of the song.
lyrics
You and me will never see
eye to eye
but still I will be rational
cause we are all we have
I'll complain until the day
you walk out on me
and I will fight with all my might
to keep you by my side
so don't let go
You and me will never see
eye to eye
(eye to ey-HI, alright)
